More than 450 people in need enjoyed a warm dinner on a cold Winter’s night last week, thanks to the Amway staff team.
The Amway team volunteered their time to chop, cook and pack 450 delicious meals that were delivered to charities supporting vulnerable people in Sydney.
OzHarvest hosted the Amway team and their chefs supervised and helped prepare the meals. OzHarvest is Australia's leading food rescue organisation. They collect quality surplus food and distribute it to people in need. More than 4 million Australians suffer food insecurity.
“The experience was very rewarding. We cooked meals for people in need and made a difference. We also learnt about food waste and nutrition from the OzHarvest chefs,”
Christine Chua, from the Amway team.
In addition to the Amway team volunteering their time, we donated $13,000 and iCook cookware to OzHarvest. This is part of our ongoing commitment to helping our local community and improve nutrition education and awareness through our Power of 5 campaign.
